Hi Maeva,
Just received the following update from the client and wanted to share it with you!
They truly enjoyed their trip, it's really nice to hear from those who enjoyed every minute of their trip planned by you!
Luckily, (and again with help from your team) all worked out.
Thank you again!
From the client:
"Hi Chris:
Your planning was excellent. We had a very active and enjoyable itinerary every day. At the end of most days, we were both tired and slept well. The next day always promised more things to see and do. It was great! Your liaison with Queen of Clubs (QC) in France turned out to be very helpful. They assisted in several quick pivots and were always responsive and reliable
On our first day of arrival, we were waiting in the train station for departure to Caen when we realized the timing of the museum visit would not be adequate when we were to get off the train in Caen-and our bed & breakfast lodging was 20 minutes further in Bayeux. we called QC and they arranged for us to get off the train in Bayeux and got transported to the lodging. It worked out well!
Our tech abilities often came in handy during this trip as we used our talents with QC to get us into a nice boutique hotel- The Nolinski- in Paris. It was perfect for us! Queen of Clubs arranged our transfer to this hotel upon arrival. The Nolinski was within short walking distance of the Louvre, and since we requested to be near one of two sites to visit- either the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower, it was perfect! We checked for hotels in Paris on our phone and this hotel did not come up on popular websites!
We had a surprise at the last night's dinner for our friend's birthday at Monsieur Bleu- we immediately contacted QC and they called the reservation desk while we waited. We are not sure what the discussion included- but the hostess let us in! And after dinner, our waiter brought a dessert with a sparkler for our friend
We decided to arrange for a second car transport from our separate Paris locations to the airport on the morning of departure. Once again, we made arrangements with QC to add a car to pick up our friend and her family + luggage to the airport- and the driver helped our friend and her sister carry luggage down from the second floor on a spiral staircase!
We loved several things:
All pick-up arrangements were on time and waiting for us. Clean cars and timely drop off at destinations, and all drivers were courteous and dressed in suits- very professional!
Our personal tour guides in Bayeux and Chamonix were on time, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable, and made sure we had the full experience – never rushing us. Special recognition tour guide for the two-day Normandy beaches, museums, and cemeteries: Pierre. He was excellent. Pierre has a master’s degree in history and it showed well in his thorough knowledge of D-Day and lots of detail of how WW II was fueled by the onerous terms of the Treaty of Versailles imposed on Germany. Hence Hitler had lots of momentum as he ascended to his position of Power. The museum in Caen was excellent. With Pierre at our side guiding us through the exhibits and then onto the battlefields and beaches in Normandy, he kept us in constant learning. For me, it was somewhat emotional and intense- an experience I will never forget. I would highly recommend Pierre for your future client’s personal tours of the Normandy area.
The B & B in Bayeux, and the restaurants you recommended were excellent! The best French restaurant ever was Hameau Albert 1er in Chamonix! A superb 9-course meal served in traditional French cuisine style! The waiters and waitresses dressed in suits, and ties- two servers delivering each course separately and at the same time to Dan & I. They would set the plates on the table at the same time with the same motion. Impressive!!!
Thanks so much, Chris!"
In health and wellness,
Chris.
